She walked down the dark streets in the rain, tears mixing with the water
drops falling down around her. Fiery red hair was dulled and matted to her
head, her clothes soaked through and through. < How could he do that? He
begged me to take him back and then I found him with HER! That damn bitch
Harmony, the one who made high school miserable for me.
FLASHBACK
Willow opened the doors to the back of Oz's van.
"Hey baby, I..." Her voice died as she contemplated the scene in front of
her. Oz and Harmony, fully unclothed and in a position she didn't think
could be physically possible. A scream tore from her throat and she picked
up a brick sitting in the alley next to her and threw it into the van,
slamming mere inches from her "boyfriend"'s head.
"Willow!" Oz jumped and covered himself and Harmony.
"Save it, Oz. Go back to screwing the bimbo. I don't care!" Willow slammed
the doors shut and ran off. By the time she calmed down, it was dark and
she was near the corner of a street.
END FLASHBACK
"Why was I so stupid?" She mumbled to herself. She made her way to the park
and sat in the swing.
"Red?" Willow raised her head. Icy blue met red-rimmed forest green eyes.
"Willow!" The dullness of her gaze scared him. They were deviod of all
emotion. He crouched down to her level. "What happened?" She didn't
answer, just shook her head and returned to staring into space. After a
moment of silence, she spoke, her voice hollow and frighteningly
monotonous.
"Spike, will you kill me?"
"What?!?" Her empty gaze settled on him.
"Your chip is gone. You tried to kill me last year, will you finish what
you'd tried to start?"
"Red, you know you're my friend. I don't want to kill you, unless you were
going to be undead. Why do you want to die?"
"You want to know?" He nodded."Really want to know?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I bloody well am very sure." She stood up in the swing almost before
he could register she had moved. Gripping the horizantal bar above her,
she flipped herself up and laid down on it for a second before standing
up, wavering slightly.
"Red, what are you doing?" < Don't get yourself hurt, luv. >
"Shhh..." After a moment, she gained her balance and started to scream
down at him.
"He hurt me!!!! He said he loved me and he HURT ME!!!!!! He was screwing
Harmony! H-A-R-M-O-N-Y! The evil bitch of hell!" She started to sob harder
and as she cried, the storm grew in intensity until Spike had a hard time
seeing through the sheet of rain. A loud crash made him jump as lightning
struck a branch of the oak tree beside the swingset. Faster than he could
move, the branch broke and landed on the bar Willow stood on, sending her
sprawling to the ground, the bar and branch on top of her.
"WILLOW!!" With a savage growl, Spike wrenched the debris and metal off of
the petite redhead he was lucky to call his friend. He could hear her
heart slow, her breath coming in shallow gasps. Crimson blood poured from
her chest. She was almost unconscious, he knew she'd never wake up.
"You can't die, luv. Not before I get a chance with you."
Making a decision she'd probably hate him for, he sliced open his wrist
and held the dripping life force to her lips. Weakly she suckled until
she'd had enough and slipped into death.
"Stay with me, Willow. Don't leave me." He whipped out a cell phone and
called a number.
"Rupert, it's Spike. We have a problem......."
