A week had goon by since the night of the party. Spike had cleaned his house everyday since then, and still something was off about it. He rearranged his furniture twice, and had even cleaned his fridge. He also had been craving peaches and pears. The thought of them made him hungry, and now his fridge was stocked. Spike heard a knock on his door. He strode over to it, and opened the door. There stood Willow.
"Hi Spike," Willow said, "Buffy said to bring you to Giles for a research party. Apparently there is a new big, bad nasty in town."
Spike raised his eyebrows for a moment before answering, "Yeah pet, let me go get me coat and we'll be off." Spike went and got his coat and keys before closing the door. Willow looked at the keys in curiosity, but said nothing.
"Come on pet, I'll drive us over the Watcher's," Spike said, gesturing to the car.
Willow eyed the DeSoto, before climbing into the passenger seat. Spike moved behind the steering wheel and turned the key. Although the car was old, the engine purred to life on the first try. Spike put the car in gear and pulled the car down the street.

It only took them a fraction of the time it normally took to get to Giles house. Spike drove like a madman. Willow considered them lucky to not have been stopped by a cop.
She also wondered how many speeding tickets Spike had gotten since the invention of the car.
"Here we are," Spike said as he parked at the curb in front of Giles apartment.
"Yeah, here we are," Willow echoed, starting to dig in her purse for something. She made a satisfied sound and pulled a bottle of something from her purse. Spike got out of the car. Willow got out, and uncapped the bottle. She dabbed a bit of the stuff in the bottle behind her ears, and on her wrist and throat, and recapped the bottle and put it away. Spike smelled the aroma from three yards away. It was the smell of peaches.

"Hi guys," Buffy said cheerfully as Spike and Willow entered the apartment, "we were about to order pizza, but we convinced Xander to wait for you." Buffy had long since accepted Spike as part of the Scooby gang. As long as he helped, and didn't hurt anyone, she didn't mind him being here. Plus, whenever she was feeling down, Spike made a great punching bag.
Spike watched a smile spread across Willow's face at the joke about Xander's unfillable stomach. *Cor, the little witch was pretty when she smiled like that. * Spike shook his head. That kind of thinking wasn't going to help him. Willow was just a friend. Although, he couldn't help but wonder when she became his friend and not the red headed chit. *Thinking kills brain cells, Spike* he thought to himself and smiled at his next thought. *And there are much better ways to go about doing that* Spike settled down on the Watchers couch.
"So what are we looking for anyway?" Spike asked anyone who could tell him.
"The number for the pizza place," Xander said, perfectly serious. Giles had just entered the room and caught the conversation. While the girls giggled, Giles gave Xander that You-graduated-from-high-school? look and shook his head in resignation.
Willow got her giggles under control and said, "We're looking for a demon with large horns that have acid on them, and grows back limbs if you cut them off. It also bleeds purple, and makes it's victims burn, from the inside out. It leaves a trail of greenish ooze, that is only visible to animals." Willow grew sober as she added the following, "It leaves marks on it's victims foreheads."
Spike sucked in a breath, "Does it leave marks on the rest of the body?"
Willow looked at him oddly," It doesn't leave the body. They only find the head."
Spike shook his head. He picked up a book and started looking for the demon. The rest of the group followed suit. Silence filled the room, except for the occasional turning of pages.
"Ah-ha," Xander cried proudly.
"What, did you find the demon?" Giles asked.
Xander shook his head, "No, I found the number for the pizza place." Willow and Buffy giggled again, and Spike groaned. Xander got up and walked towards the phone.
"What do you guys want on your pizza?" Xander asked.
"Pepperoni," Buffy said.
"Mushrooms," Willow chimed in.
"Plain," Giles said, and added as an after thought, "Make that extra cheese."
"Spike?" Xander asked the vampire.
"The same as Red," the vampire said.
Buffy rolled her eyes as Xander went to call in the order. "You two are perfect for each other, your the only two people in the world who like mushrooms on their pizza."
"Hey, mushrooms are good," Willow spoke up.
Buffy rolled her eyes again, and went back to her book. Spike, Willow, and Giles continued to search for the demon and in the backround they could hear Xander saying, "Yeah, that's three pizzas, one with mushrooms, one half pepperoni, half extra cheese, and one with pineapple. Oh, could you throw in three liter's of Coke with that? Yeah, that's it. Bye."
Xander came back in the room and grabbed his book. He sat by the door and started to look for the demon. The pizza arrived and were eaten by the hungry teenagers and vampire. It was starting to near dawn, and they still hadn't found anything.
Finally Spike stood up. "It's starting to get light outside, and I got to go home," Spike started. He looked over at Willow, "I'll give you a ride home."
Buffy said, "Willow's staying over at my house."
Spike shrugged, "Then I guess I'll give you both a ride home."

Twenty minutes later, Spike was sprawled out on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He was trying to figure out what was off about the apartment. As his mind wandered, thinking about what this demon they were looking for could possibly be, and what it wanted, the answer came to him. His entire house smelled like peaches. Peaches and pears.
